November 2024 Book Chats: Digital Citizenship in Action (2nd ed.)

ATLE's digital citizenship PLN is excited to kick off this year's ATLE ProLearn book chat, focused on Digital Citizenship in Action - the second edition of Kristen Mattson's book, a book just launched this summer. This book chat opportunity is open to all interested people across Alberta and beyond, at no cost other than your purchasing of the book.

Many of you will remember Kristen as our Convergence keynote speaker and presenter of several sessions in the Fall of 2022. She is amazing, refreshing, timely and her new book doesn't disappoint as it's also these things AND just published so super-helpful TODAY.

What you need to know:
  1. This Fall book chat will be short and sweet (as is the book, at 121 main pages - but don't be fooled by that as there are lots of QR codes that take you to supporting resources you can use once implementing her strategies).
  2. Our book chat will take place over 4 Tuesdays in November: November 5, 12, 19, 26 from 4-5 PM. Sign up here to receive the Calendar invites.
  3. SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT - Kristen Mattson will be joining us November 26 to share ideas about Artificial Intelligence and Digital Citizenship. All are welcome! Read more!
A shoutout and huge thanks goes to Joel Kristiansen, Emerging Technology Consultant from Edmonton Catholic Schools, for stepping up to facilitate our time together!

We tested the book study waters by exploring Kristen Mattson's Ethics in a Digital World.
We were excited subsequently to sponsor Kristen as our keynote for Convergence, 2022, where she also presented an inspiring stream of sessions focused on aspects of digital citizenship.
